In the Community

IWIF's Charitable Contributions Program is hard at work making a difference in Maryland communities. Our program includes several components - grants, matching donations, and volunteer hours for our employees. Each year the program awards more than 75 grants to Maryland based charitable organizations.

Two key organizations receiving grants each year are the Maryland Charity Campaign and Kids' Chance of Maryland. The Maryland Charity Campaign is the United Way administered campaign for Maryland State agency employees. Each year since 2000, IWIF has been proud to match dollar for dollar the donations made by IWIF employees and this grant is the largest awarded each year. IWIF is also a key contributor to the Kids' Chance of Maryland organization. This organization provides educational scholarships to children of seriously injured workers in the State of Maryland.

In addition to grants, IWIF encourages all its employees to contribute to charitable organizations; IWIF will then work to match all donations made by employees according to the program guidelines. IWIF is very proud of the generosity of all its employees.

Volunteerism is also a big part of IWIF's community commitment. IWIF employees are given Volunteer Hours to participate in events and programs in the community which include some of the following activities: mentoring in the Big Brothers Big Sisters 'Bigs in School' program, serving lunch at a local outreach center, working with their child's school in a PTA event, working on a Boy Scout or Girl Scout project, helping at an overnight summer camp for children, etc.

Giving takes on many forms - donating canned goods throughout the year for donation to local food banks, rolling up our sleeve at one of the quarterly blood drives to support the Red Cross, participating in the Holiday Adopt A Family project, collecting school supplies each year as school begins, walking in the many Walk-A-Thons,

IWIF employees are passionate about giving and helping in their Community.
