IWIF and employees donates $10,000 to the American
Red Cross for Hurricane Katrina relief effort
(TOWSON, MD)-IWIF Workers' Compensation Insurance, located in Towson,
Md., donated $10,000 to the American Red Cross in Central Maryland
on September 2, 2005 to help with the Hurricane Katrina disaster
relief effort.
Donna Wilson, vice president of Corporate Services, and Carolyn
Gutermuth, manager of Government and Community Relations and head
of IWIF's Charitable Contributions Committee, presented the $10,000
check to the American Red Cross during a live fundraising effort
hosted by Baltimore ABC affiliate WMAR-TV.
"This donation is from IWIF's board of directors and employees,"
explained Wilson. "It is the first installment of several contributions
IWIF and its employees will be making to this cause. Our employees
have a strong record of giving to the community, particularly during
disasters. We will continue to match employees' contributions to
various charitable organizations that are collecting for the Hurricane
Katrina disaster relief effort."
Established in 1914, IWIF is the leading writer of workers' compensation
insurance in Maryland.
