Other acts of giving increased in 2004
IWIF's Charitable Contributions Committee, comprised of employees who volunteer their time to plan fundraisers, donations and award grant money, reported co-workers turned out in record numbers in 2004 to give to those in need and participate in a variety of charitable events. Throughout the year, many of IWIF's 400 employees participated in various events, which were designed to give back to the community. Opportunities included: safety training at Merganthaler Vocational Technical High School, Red Cross blood drives, mentoring children at Harford Hills Elementary School through Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Maryland, Inner City Suburban Youth, holiday Adopt-A-Family, food drives for various food banks around the State and much more.

The company's committee also awards grant money and matching funds to non-profit organizations throughout the State with a 501(c) (3) status that support children's health and education, safety in the workplace and home, and those that provide relief for medical, environmental or natural disasters.
