IWIF adds new
Spanish information section to website
(TOWSON, MD)-- To help non-English speaking, Hispanic workers and
claimants better understand Maryland's workers' compensation insurance
system and the importance of workplace safety, the Injured Workers'
Insurance Fund created a Spanish language section on its website
(iwif.com).
Written in Spanish, the section for injured workers contains IWIF's
Guide for the Injured Worker, an electronic brochure; accident investigation
forms; an explanation of claims services provided by IWIF; and an
explanation of the workers' compensation claims process in Maryland.
The workplace safety section contains information in Spanish explaining
safety rights and responsibilities of employees and on-the-job safety
tip sheets, posters, and videos from IWIF's free lending video library.
For the past few years, IWIF has provided its agent partners and
policyholders with advice and tips to help promote workplace safety
and reduce accidents involving their Spanish-speaking employees.
"Now we are taking this effort to the next level," explains
Donna Wilson, Vice President of Communications. "We are communicating
directly with Spanish-speaking workers, supervisors and claimants."
Established in 1914, IWIF is the leading provider of workers' compensation
insurance in Maryland. Today, IWIF insures more than one in four
Maryland employers and their employees.
