MRA earns $61,000 group dividend from IWIF
(TOWSON, MD) –— The Injured Workers’ Insurance
Fund presented a group safety dividend check in the amount of $61,179
to Tom Saquella, president of the Maryland Retailers Association,
on February 9, 2007. Saquella accepted the check on behalf of the
thirty-six participating members of the MRA/IWIF program. The members
earned the safety dividend for controlling losses and preventing
workplace injuries for accident year 2005.
“IWIF has always been the preferred insurer for local merchants,” says
Tom Saquella, President of the Maryland Retailers Association. “This
dividend shows the benefits of workplace safety efforts and the
strong partnership between IWIF and the Maryland Retailers Association.”
IWIF partners with numerous associations and safety groups to
provide workers’ compensation insurance programs designed
to improve workplace safety and save policyholders money.
“We are pleased to offer this dividend to MRA members who
participate in the IWIF program,” says George H. Matthews,
IWIF Executive Vice President. “We have a longstanding partnership
with MRA and look forward to servicing their workers’ compensation
insurance needs for many years.”
The Maryland Retailers Association is comprised of more than 700
members at some 1,400 locations and is the Maryland retail community’s
major statewide trade association.
Established in 1914, IWIF is the largest provider of workers’ compensation
insurance in Maryland.
