Rona Finkelstein, Esquire, receives Community Achiever Award

(TOWSON, MD) –—Rona S. Finkelstein, Esquire, received the distinguished Community Achiever Award and a Governor’s Citation for her grass roots efforts to raise funds for Kids’ Chance of Maryland.

Rona accepted her award, along with six other Community Achiever winners, during the 32nd annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast held at Martins West on January 15, 2007.

“I am honored and humbled to be the recipient of this award,” says Rona.

Rona was nominated for the Community Achiever Award due to her efforts in the development and growth of Kids’ Chance of Maryland, an organization dedicated to providing scholarships to students of parents severely or fatally injured on the job. She organized grass roots fundraising efforts and currently serves on the Board for Kids’ Chance of MD.

The Community Achiever Award is given to individuals who perpetuate the ideals and dreams of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and who make significant contributions to the community with their time and talent.

Finkelstein is Vice President of Legal Services and Human Resources for the Injured Workers’ Insurance Fund (IWIF), Maryland’s largest provider of workers’ compensation insurance. In addition to the Community Achiever Award, Rona received an IWIF Executive Team Award for her dedicated service.
